Abstract

The convergence of Radio Frequency Identification and the Internet of Things has redefined the way physical assets, environmental conditions, and industrial processes are observed, interpreted, and optimized. Across manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, construction, and infrastructure systems, RFID and IoT technologies are increasingly serving as the foundation for intelligent data driven decision making, real time situational awareness, and longterm sustainability strategies. However, the true scientific and technological potential of RFID and IoT is not limited to simple identification and tracking. Instead, it lies in their capacity to function as distributed cyber physical sensing systems that integrate materials science, antenna engineering, network theory, artificial intelligence, and systems management. Drawing exclusively on the provided references, this article develops a unified theoretical and empirical framework that connects RFID based sensing, printed and flexible electronics, industrial incident management, supply chain optimization, smart buildings, and agro industrial intelligence into a single coherent paradigm. The study explains how RFID evolved from Stockmans early backscatter communication model to modern chipless, printable, stretchable, and sensor enabled platforms, and how these developments enable advanced industrial and environmental applications. The analysis demonstrates that RFID IoT ecosystems function as both technological infrastructures and organizational decision architectures that reshape risk management, energy efficiency, food supply chains, and healthcare monitoring. Through extensive methodological synthesis and critical interpretation, this article shows that RFID driven IoT systems enable predictive, resilient, and sustainable operations by transforming raw electromagnetic interactions into actionable intelligence. The results further reveal that the integration of machine learning, hybrid electronics, and advanced materials significantly enhances the reliability, sensitivity, and scalability of RFID based systems. Ultimately, this research argues that RFID enabled IoT is not merely a tool for automation, but a foundational technology for the next generation of cyber physical sustainability and industrial intelligence.
